“Founded in 1948 as The Crafts Council of Great Britain, Contemporary Applied Arts is the largest, most successful gallery and retail outlet for contemporary craft in the UK. Bibliothèque were commissioned to update their identity and communications.
The new logo succeeds in negotiating a cumbersome name that had hampered both the impact and flexibility of previous identities. The bold identity is based on the initials CAA, creating a strong, versatile symbol, with a fresh colour palette suggesting the variety of crafts represented. The application of the identity is intentionally bold, encouraging exhibition content to integrate with the symbol on marketing items.”
