“CrowdSpot is a customisable online mapping tool for crowd-sourced input on issues or campaigns of public interest. It is used to collect citizen identified locations and their comments, through a social and engaging process. The CrowdSpot tool is designed to provide the public with a fun, easy way to contribute to the planning process through adding their voice to a map by suggesting a spot, adding a comment, voting on spots and sharing locations with their social network.
“We devised a brand identity focusing on map pins, which when displayed at various angles become talking birds — suggesting the idea of collective social opinion and public discussion. This brand identity highlights the participatory voting aspects in a friendly and visual way.
