“I was invited in March 2013 to pitch for the rebranding of the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art. This seemed an opportunity too good to pass on so I decided to go for it. The work shown here forms part of my creative submission.
Rationale:
An eye is a fitting symbol to represent a festival of visual arts. It works on multiple levels as G Eye/Gi not only represents Glasgow International, but also invites the audience to look further, to open their eyes, to discover, explore and engage with visual art. It’s an iconic symbol for an iconic festival.
Unfortunately it wasn’t successful. This was my first free pitch in almost two years and will quite possibly be the last but then never say never I suppose. At the very least the work makes a nice project to include in this here site.”
