“Backed by a generation of traditions and experience in the textile industry, what was to become Linesey Woolsey was born from an idea of a business diversification. Noote & Netoo was engaged by the textile family business seeking to expand its operations into new products and market by creating a new fashion brand.
“With the business objective in mind, we did a study of the parent company’s products and capabilities to identify the core strength of the business, which lies in the patterned wool blend fabrics. Researching the current market we found there is an opportunity in semi-formal wear for the hip, fashionable late teens to late 20s demographics. The name “Linesey Woolsey” and the cheeky llama was chosen as the brand name and identity to align the narrative and visual manifestation of the brand with the values of the target audience. A set of patterns was created to accompany the main logo to create a cohesive identity system.”
