“Founded in 1920, the Preservation Society of Charleston is the oldest community-based historic preservation organization in America. The organization works to inspire the involvement of all who dwell in the Lowcountry to honor and respect its material and cultural heritage.
“Objective: To fully re-brand one of the oldest and most beloved institutions in the Southeast. With that in hand, the project expanded to include a full design of PSoC’s flagship publication, Preservation Progress and eventually an overhaul of its digital platforms.
“Results: The re-brand resulted in a simple, iconic system featuring a two/three dimensional dynamic to create a series of row houses and rooflines. We then took this form and continued to develop variations on it until a city landscape emerged.”
