“Named in reference to a 1960s zine by designer-architect Ettore Sottsass, Room East is gallery based in New York’s Lower East Side. The identity system consists of a dynamic wordmark that outlines two spatial volumes and their relationship; the mark flexibly adjusts its composition to fit the parameters of a given application across various media, including print, web, and stationery. The type is set in Pica 10 Pitch, a digital version of the typeface used in Sottsass’ eponymous publication, and a nod to the Valentine typewriter he designed for Olivetti in 1969.”
