“Urban Tiger is an Asian restaurant in downtown Budapest and run by the same owner as Hotel Rum next door. They are connected both operatively and aesthetically so the interior design of the bar follows the visual principles of the neighboring hotel. The restaurant specialized in Pan-Asian food and the menu is inspired by the chef’s gastronomical journeys – he earned a lot of culinary experience through working in Malaysia and Singapore as well.
“The dressed tiger in the logo is a domesticated, urban version of the Asian animal which is a national symbol in many Asian countries and used as a synonym for economic growth as well. In the hat of the tiger there are hidden symbols of the Malaysian flag which is an implied homage to the country where the chef gained the most of his gastronomical knowledge. The menu cards are evoking this faraway journey by their passport-like appearance: the blue canvas menu cards are printed with golden hot foil logos.”
