“Design Forum Finland is the promotional organisation of the Finnish design sector run by the Finnish Society of Crafts and Design founded in 1875. Design Forum Finland’s aim is to enhance the design sector and to promote business in Finland. The international projects of Design Forum Finland aim to increase the export of designed products and design expertise. They unite various actors from companies and individual designers to public bodies both in Finland and abroad. Design Forum Finland’s projects deliver a strong message about Finnish innovation society and its creative industries.
“Design Forum Finland’s identity was redesigned in 2009 to replace the stiff and non-characteristic identity system. The new identity was built on top of various visual cues from forums – the historical marketplaces, which were places where new products, services, people and ideas met. The brand elements include forms from paved squares and square layouts, which are then accompanied with a custom-made typography nodding to Finnish design classics but also to typographic movements of late 20th century.
“Kokoro & Moi is responsible for Design Forum Finland’s new identity as well as the art direction for communications material and design for collateral from signage to shopping bags. Kokoro & Moi has also worked closely with Design Forum Finland on various international exhibitions, events and publications.”
