“Being from somewhere and wanting to go places are two central traits of the Faroese identity. If you operate in s small national market with a strong culture, a breathtaking nature and a society where everybody knows everybody, you better be authentic and true to who you are. And in a World that is evermore interconnected you cannot operate in the financial market without a strong international outlook.
This was one of the main insights that e-Types and Eik arrived at when developing the new brand identity and visual universe for the former ‘Føroya Sparikassi’, the largest bank in the Faroe Islands with a 175 year history, when it took the leap from an identity as a locally based savings and loans institution to a full-fledged bank with the name Eik.
The e-Types design team needed to communicate the leap from small local savings bank to a modern and international full service bank, complete with a subsidiary branch in Copenhagen and a full array of international activities.
The new visual identity captures the bank’s Faroese roots while conveying the international ambition and complexity of the firm. The programme is developed through extensive brand work in Copenhagen and The Faroe Islands.”
