“Jaguatorí is a small breeding kennel specialized in cimarrones, a typical Uruguayan dog breed that was born in the time of the colonies, when the dogs introduced by the Europeans got back to their savage status and then were domesticated again by the rural population. Even though it is a small institution, Jaguatorí won best female this year (and some other prizes over the past years), competing with the best ranches in Uruguay. For this project we took a folk pattern that is pretty common in the gaucho culture, and reinterpreted it with more dynamism, keeping the rustic feel in the materials and printing methods, to keep the cimarron essence.”
