”OHLAB asked us to design their new corporate identity. They wanted a graphic identity that should not seem pretentious, but rather simple, especially efficient. The efficiency must not conflict with good design. It must be original, creative, unpretentious not cheap, maintaining professionalism, capable of change, open to possibilities, professional yet informal, casual and accessible at the same time. Values that can bring more and communicate more with creativity and good design rather than the use of expensive materials and techniques.OHLAB creative process is based on exhaustive and rigorous exploration of possibilities, ranging from the most serious to the most absurd, to find strategies to get more of the spaces. Oliver Hernaiz Architecture Lab work is based on strategies to end concepts and performative and collaborative ways rather than simply beautiful.
“If the action of building is to join different shapes and materials, we wanted to create something complete opposite, a card that you have to break, segment or deconstruct to use it. The cards has been perforated into different segments that represent the areas of a architectural drawing that can be segmented in different ways tailored to the needs in an efficient way. These different variations arise depending on how you tear it apart. In each sheet there are twentyone different card possibilities without repeating the same design once. And even with the possibility that a card can, if necessary, broken down into two parts without impairing its function, since the information is distributed equally on both. The patterns we use in the back are those that come by default in AutoCad (architects software) is the collaborative and ironic at the same time.”
