“Susanna Vento needed a visual identity that conveyed a versatile professionalism and would translate to an international level. The main focus was on the website, which had to function as a portfolio where works from different customers could be displayed. The portfolio already had a strong starting point due to Susanna’s amazing pictures. We had to create an element that people identified with Susanna Vento and did not interfere with the quality of the photos.
“The photos worked as the foundation of the look so we chose a typographical approach. We designed a font that Susanna Vento is known for and created a symbol from the font’s S & V- letters. Susanna’s works are precise compositions so we created an animation for the symbol that represents the preciseness as well as the variation of her work. For different platforms we made different variations of the symbol positioning of the symbol. We also took notice of the practical side. We used the S & V- symbol in packaging tape, post labels and business cards. This created a controlled and recognizable look that was visible in customer meetings, marked parts of her arranged sets and when she sends her packaged products.
“The sharp and soft angles as well as the size of the font accentuate the versatility of Susanna’s work, where you can find a lot of different materials with hard and soft surfaces. Susanna brings her own touch into these skillful arrangements and because of this the overview of the font is more humane than hard or geometrical. Due to the design of the font the symbol can be set next to pictures without it drawing too much attention. The look is black and white so it can function with colorful and graphical pictures.
“We wanted the whole process to be thought out. The meetings and the “hands on” work gigs worked a lot smoother when the material was in order.”
